Our architecturally designed waterfront home is situated on the Western shore of beautiful Lake Macquarie just metres from the water’s edge with uninterrupted 180o views. Lake Macquarie is 90 mins drive North of Sydney.
Newly built and tastefully furnished, it consists of 3 separate living areas. The main house is situated on two levels. There is an upper level, a terrace apartment on the lower level, and a boat cottage, all with private entrances and stunning views. Each area is fully self contained with everything you will need for a relaxing holiday. Comfortable outdoor furniture and BBQ's on each terrace.
The upper level consists of 2 queen size bedrooms, 2 bathrooms, office, laundry and open plan kitchen/living area with spectacular views of the lake from almost every room. The office is fully equipped with wireless, laptop & printer.
The terrace apartment has an open plan kitchen/living area, one queen bedroom, bathroom, laundry and also with wonderful views of the Lake.
The boat cottage is 3 metres from the waters edge, with 180 degree views. It is a fully self contained studio apartment with 1 double bed, open plan galley kitchen & lounge/dining area, bathroom, laundry facilities and balcony. (The boathouse is run as a small B&B which we will be temporarily closing down while we are away. see www.watersedgeboathouse.com.au).
Kitchens have the latest appliances, granite benchtops and are generously equipped for those who enjoy cooking.
We have ducted reverse cycle air conditioning, a home security system and double lockup garage.
There is a row boat, 2 kayaks, lifejackets, crab pots, fishing gear and bicycles which you are welcome to use.

Our Neighborhood
Our neighborhood has fish jumping out of the water, octopus under the jetty and a large variety of beautiful birdlife ! Lake Macquarie is a stunning waterway with 174km of foreshore, four times the size of Sydney Harbour.
The city of Lake Macquarie is located 90 minutes drive north of Sydney, 40 minutes from Newcastle, and 45 minutes from Australia's premium wine country, the renowned Hunter Valley which has been host to entertainers such as Robbie Williams, Elton John, Rod Stewart and many more. Besides the breathtaking Lake there are pristine coastal and sandy beaches and the spectacular Watagan Mountains to the west.
Sydney airport is the closest international airport (Less than 2 Hrs drive South). Williamtown is the domestic airport for Newcastle (40mins North) and has connecting flights to most other cities in Australia. Air conditioned trains leave each hour to and from Sydney - a pleasant 2 Hr trip along the Hawkesbury River.
Wangi Wangi village (pronounced Wongee) is a 2 mins drive (or 15min walk along the waterfront) and although small, there is a Supermarket, Bakery, Butcher, Pharmacy, Newsagent, Beauty Salons, Hairdressers, a Barber & Beardary, Art Gallery, Lolly Shop, Post Office, Library, 3 restaurants, 2 clubs and a pub.
Toronto, a 10 min drive north, is a very pretty coastal town where you will find larger supermarkets, shops and a variety of restaurants and cafe’s. A further 15mins away you will find 3 'mega' shopping centres. The local farmers markets alternate each weekend around the district.
There are several golf courses within easy reach. An interesting 'Antiques Trail', Art Galleries and many other local attractions.

We are Sandra and Colin, a semi retired energetic couple in our 50's who worked in Banking and IT. We are non smokers and have 3 grown children now out in the world, working, travelling and enjoying their own lives.
We are experienced travellers but are new to home exchange so see this as a great opportunity and adventure. We enjoy sailing, walking, theatre, dining out, browsing local markets and antique shops, visiting historical sites, reading, cooking, good wine and of course, travel.
