Our Home
From the outside it is a classic London townhouse (built in the 1830s), with a front wall covered in wisteria and facing onto a square. Inside, it's a light, airy, voluminous space, mostly reconstructed in 2010. Downstairs there's a big living room and a modern kitchen and dining room; upstairs, 2 large and comfortable bedrooms and bathroom. Wooden flooring throughout. And at the back, a sweet oval-shaped walled garden, a perfect retreat for a barbecue and a lounge in the hammock next to our koi carp fishpond.

Our Neighborhood
London is a town made up of endless numbers of little village neighbourhoods, each with their own centres and character. Ours is just over the river from Westminster, and is probably the closest to the south-west.
We are between Vauxhall and Oval, which are two ends of a historic neighbourhood. Our house is situated in a conservation area, surrounded by particularly pretty houses, all of the same period of 1830s-1840s. There is a real village feel, with plentiful local shops, bars and restaurants meaning you only need to cross the river if you feel like it.
At the same time, the area is right in the heart of one of the world's great metropolises - the Olympic city 2012. All of that is on your doorstep, as Vauxhall is one of the major public transport hubs of SW London, with many options for Underground and buses to anywhere you might want to go, pretty much 24 hours a day. But if you've got time and leisure, why not walk? Our house is within walking distance of all the main central sights - 15 mins walk to Tate Britain, and 30 mins walk to Big Ben or Buckingham Palace.
