Our Home
Our house is in a community of three level Victorian Terrace Homes with a central communal courtyard/garden featuring an attractive fountain. A 'lock-up and leave' with great security. From the front of the house and upstairs balcony we look over the internal garden of mature magnolia trees. From the back we look across a wide street to some attractive office buildings. We can walk to restaurants, entertainment, supermarket, pubs, shopping etc but also can pop downstairs to the cars. There is a BBQ and outdoor table plus communal outdoor seating. Outside our door is one of the largest domains in Auckland with trees, great walking, the Auckland Museum and Winter Gardens. We have a regular cleaner every second week and friendly professional neighbors to share a drink with.

Our Neighborhood
We live in Newmarket; a well established central inner suburb which has a combination of residential, retail, restaurants and offices. We are also a 20 minute walk from the central city or a short bus/train ride and walking distance from the Parnell boutique shopping area. There is excellent public transport but most things are within walking distance. We seldom need to drive but the motorway is near by for when escaping from the city. Within half an hours drive you can either be walking in forest or at the beach. Within a ferry ride you can be on one of Auckland's beautiful islands. Within a few hours of driving you can be lost on a mountain.

Our Dates
Dates for San Francisco would ideally start middle of March and finishJune but are flexible. Could start later but would prefer a three month stay, however please ask if you have other ideas.

Our Destinations
We are looking for a home exchange in San Francisco near the main areas and good transport. Our 20 year old son will be with us most of the time as he will possibly end up staying in San Francisco. Our 22 year old daughter and friend may be with us for a few weeks.

About Us
Annette & Stephen are recent empty nesters. Our kids are late teens and early twenties and still have bedrooms here. Our daughter seldom stays but still keeps a controlling influence. She recently finished a business degree and now has a demanding but very satisfying job. Our son will be with us most of 2012 during the university year to finish his software engineering degree. He has spent from November 2011 to February 2012 doing an internship in San Francisco and hopes to return there for full time work after it's completion.
