We have a recently remodeled 3 bedroom 2 bath family home that sleeps 6+ in Mountain View. Our house is in a great family neighborhood, walking distance to 4 different parks/playgrounds/schools, walk downtown to all of the restaurants and businesses on Castro Street. The house was completely remodeled last year, has all hardwood floors and gourmet fully equipped kitchen with granite breakfast bar. Dining table can be expanded to fit 14.

Our home is less than 7 miles from Stanford University. It is walking distance to all types of public transportation - train, buses and light rail, and easy access to all major Bay Area freeways. We are just 35 miles from San Francisco, 35 miles to the beach in Santa Cruz, or the beach in Half Moon Bay. Monterey is 90 minutes away to the south, Napa 90 minutes away to the north. Minutes to most of the famous Silicon Valley corporations - Microsoft and Google are just 3 miles from our house.

We have a trampoline in our backyard, many fruit trees (peaches and nectarines, figs, persimmons and pomegranates in the fall, lemons - and hopefully oranges soon! - in the winter), and front yard garden with swings and dirt box for the kids and bikes for everyone in the family (including a tandem! and plenty of trikes). Queen bed in the master suite, full futon in the guest room, bunk bed in the kids' room. Flatscreen TV, DVD, Wifi, all the necessary technological entertainment, as well as a wall full of books for adults and kids.

Mountain View is aptly named for its views of the gorgeous coastal mountains. A suburb of San Francisco, it has every amenity you could desire from city life, while it maintains a smaller town feel. Our home is on a quiet street walking distance to downtown restaurants and markets.

Walk to multiple parks/playgrounds/schools and the local library. Ride bikes to Shoreline Park where you can feed the birds and ride pedal boats, gawk at the many famous Silicon Valley companies along the way.

If you love the outdoors, Mountain View is at the center of a region that couldn't offer a better selection of things to do. We have mountain and road bikes at your disposal, and some of the most amazing hiking and riding trails and roads in the country. You can be in the redwoods within a half hour drive, or surfing world renowned waves.

There is also an occasional chance that you can use our timeshare in Lake Tahoe, near Heavenly Ski Resort (but usually not during high season - school holidays), or our family's one bedroom cottage walking distance to the beach in Santa Cruz. These could both be non simultaneous swaps.

We are mostly tied to school year vacations in California, but have some flexibility. We have a week in February every year when we can usually do a non simultaneous swap, as well as during Christmas break.

Open to any dates

In Minnesota, we are especially interested in kid friendly cabins/lake homes where we can do summer or winter vacations, but we have family in Edina, and are open to finding a place near there as well.

We have family in NYC and like to visit once a year. Most interested in apartments in Brooklyn or lower Manhattan, but open to other offers (including in vacation spots outside of the city).

We also would love to go to places in California that we could do for a long weekend. We're especially interested in homes that have a pool in southern/central California.

We are a family of four. Steve is a product manager for a software company, Lisa is a former teacher, current high school college counselor and stay at home mom to our two kids, Shira (4) and Samuel (6). We are outdoor enthusiasts, with a full complement of sports equipment - camping, cycling, rock climbing, ultimate frisbee, soccer - you name it, we do it, or would love to try it.

Lisa understands and speaks some Italian and Spanish. Steve speaks some Hebrew.
