Our Home
The original house (1942) has 5 rooms and a bathroom downstairs and a room upstairs over the garage, all but the bathroom and laundry room with refurbished hardwood floors. There are four possible bedrooms but only one is used at present, the others are used as a computer room, a studio, and a box room (storage), which is why there aren't many pictures of bedrooms.
Nearly as big as the original house, there is an addition down two stairs at the back of one very large long space that is currently used as kitchen, dining and living area and is being refurbished. This area is on a concrete slab; the carpet is bought but not laid yet. Similarly, the paint and crown molding have been bought but the project is not finished yet.
There are cupboards and storage places throughout both original and addition spaces.
The house has a new roof (original and addition) and I am in the process of replacing the windows. The downstairs bathroom has been totally overhauled, new fixtures, shower and paint, and the upstairs bathroom is in the process of being redone.
The back of the house faces nearly due south so has a lot of light, also a lot of windows to look out at the landscaped, tranquil backyard. It is shaded from the heat in summer by a large Pecan tree. The front yard is also landscaped and gets a lot of sun, though the front rooms stay cool. There is a single driveway with a carport and a single-car garage.

Our Neighborhood
The neighborhood is working/middle class, a mix of owner-occupied and rentals. There has never been a problem with security or crime in the years lived here or the many years previously when my mother lived here. Local stores and restraunts are within walking distance, larger shopping and leisure venues are very close. Freeway access is just down the road.
The area is in central Oklahoma City so very easy to get everywhere. Downtown, or 'Bricktown' as Oklahoma's premier entertainment and tourist district is called, is just 15 minutes down the highway, and many points of interest are a short drive away. Oklahoma has a booming tourist industry and a growing reputation as a good host for events such as international boating and rodeo events, as well as traveling exhibitions and musical events of note.
While Oklahoma is land-bound, it has many beautiful lakes and recreation areas including those in National Parks.
Oklahoma is touted as the state least-affected by America's current economic down-turn; it has the lowest unemployment level, job opportunities, and the only major construction currently happening in major cities. It is growing, while many other cities and states are failing.

Other Information
In terms of vacation swap, the house can hold any number of people; what is actually available is the bedroom with queensize bed, the pull-out double-bed couch downstairs, and a double and a single inflatable mattress for any of the other rooms.
The home permanently swapped for could be smaller due to the difference in housing markets in the two countries, or it could be larger, with some extra payment involved. It must have gardens/land attached for the gardening enthusiast here! It might even be possible to swap with just some land, depending on the financial angles.

Our Dates
As stated, a permanent house swap is my ideal, but am also interested in swapping for vacation time next year so I can visit friends and look around the housing market, and am looking at a few weeks within the February to April timespan.
Our Destinations
I have put West Australia in general, for the permanent swap, though Fremantle-area is the preference, and is the destination for the vacation swap.
For the vacation swap I am quite happy to look after any animals etc.

About Us
I live alone with two dogs and a cat, all rescue animals. My hobbies are gardening (hence the landscaping), photography, arts and crafts, and reading (plenty of books here for vacation reading!).
I used to live in Fremantle before returning to the States to care for my grandmother and now wish to return. The housing market is slow at the moment so between that and the problems of importing enough money to buy a house overseas, a home swap seems the ideal solution.
I do have a little Ford Ranger truck that can be part of the swap, depending on circumstances...
