The apartment is a converted warehouse in Collingwood with high ceilings, fantastic light and plenty of space. There is a large open plan area with kitchen, dining, living and a space I use for sewing all on the lower lever. The bathroom is also on this level. The bedroom is on the mezzanine level.
There is a communal roof garden which has some views of the city. It s a great spot for a glass of wine in the warm evenings.
The apartment does not have an air conditioner and can get hot in the summer. It does have great hydronic heating so is warm in the winter. Sun floods the apartment through the huge windows facing north.

The apartment is just on the edge of the city in one of the oldest suburbs of Melbourne. You can walk to the city in 15
mins or get a tram 2 mins from the apartment.
Within a few minutes walk there is an edgy mix of factory outlets, clothing and design shops, bookshops, galleries, cafes and restaurants. Melbourne's Spanish Quarter, is not far in one direction while in the other is the Vietnamese district.
Walking distance to the MCG or the tennis centre makes it a great location to catch a footy game, cricket match or the Australian tennis Open.
It is the ultimate city fringe apartment which would be very comfortable for long or short stays and has great access to the rest of Victoria.
There is a secure parking place but no car in the exchange

I am interested in easy access places in Australia possibly to travel with my parents particularly in Victoria. I don't need a place in Sydney.
In 2013 I'd like to go to New York but could be tempted somewhere in Europe, the Americas, Asia... but don't need anything in Ireland or England.
The Destinations section isn't working even though I have contacted homeexchange about this. Thus I can't put in the locations.
I can do non-simultaneous exchanges for a few weeks.

I am an adult beginner cello player and it is lucky that you will never be in the apartment when I am practicing as I am not really very good but the huge space of the apartment is very forgiving to the sound.
I do a little sketching when I travel and would love to master the art of watercolours but haven't quite managed a technique I am happy with.
I am interested in city destinations but also country retreats where I can indulge in a bit of easy cycling.
I turn 50 in mid 2013 and am looking for somewhere to celebrate. This could be a country villa in europe of a city pad in NY or a small apartment any where. I am a open to suggestions.
