The large backyard includes a basketball court, playground for the kids, garden, greenhouse, and numerous fruit trees. The landscaping is drought-tolerant, desert-style with dozens of species of native cactus, palm trees, coral trees, California live oaks, pines, and many others. Enjoy a glass of wine and a barbecue in the evening on the backyard covered terrace. Nearby community pool (summer only) & tennis courts available, just a few minutes away. San Diego climate is perfect all-year round! The location is a peaceful setting in the exclusive North County area, heart of the rolling hills near Escondido, the avocado capital of the world, and one of the sunniest cities in America. The city of Escondido, population 140,000, is 10 minutes away, and was the subject of the album "Road to Escondido" by J.J. Cale and Eric Clapton. Access to the main freeway, Interstate 15 is just down the hill. The best way to experience southern California is by auto.

There are dozens of excellent, sandy beaches nearby, including Carlsbad, Oceanside, Encinitas, Del Mar, etc. San Diego city is 30 minutes south, Los Angeles is 1 hour north, and the mountains and desert are 1 hour north and east. You have the opportunity to experience an amazing variety of climates within just a few hours drive. There are many excellent public golf courses in the area (80 in San Diego), including several just a few minutes away. This is an ideal base to experience all of the entertainment possibilities of southern California including San Diego Zoo and Safari Park, Legoland, Disneyland, Sea World, Catalina Island, wineries, Mexico, hot air ballooning in Del Mar, mountains, desert, hiking, surfing, boating, fishing, biking, Hollywood, museums, dining, etc.
