The house is a modern furnished, 4 - 6 person house with 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms, very complete in a quiet neighborhood. It is 100 square meters, the yard is over 500 square meters.
Downstairs we have a wide living, the master bedroom and a bathroom. The kitchen is complete with oven, microwave, coffee machine, dishwasher and all utensils to prepare great diners. In the yard we have a porch where we can sit covered and enjoy the big garden with fruit trees and lots of flowers in the season. On the first floor there are two bedrooms, one has a King bed and a couch, the other one has two single beds (there we store all childrens' toys), an office room and a second bathroom including washing machine and dryer. There is also the freezer.
We are partly solar powered for hot water and elektricity.
Arnhem is a train-hour away from Amsterdam and a little more from major German towns as Dusseldorf and Koln.

We live in a quiet environment in the outskirt of Arnhem. We are a minute away from a recreation area with swimming lake. From here you can walk or ride a bike through the "Betuwe" with lots of fruit trees which bloom abundantly in spring.
Arnhem is the Capitol of Gelderland. Known from the Open air museum with houses of all over the Netherlands through ages and a lot more things that reminds the past; Burgers Zoo: a very special zoo with a jungle area, a desert area, an ocean and lot more. North of Arnhem you find the Veluwe with the National Park "De Hoge Veluwe" with the Kroller Muller museum (with many modern paintings including over 200 of Vincent van Gogh) and a impressive Sculpture Garden (www.kmm.nl).
By train you reach Amsterdam, Rotterdam and Den Haag within one hour and you can go to major German cities as Dusseldorf and Koln,

We have travelled all over the world (America, Australia, Asia africa and of course Europe) We have enjoyed already 13 swaps and we really love it. It's such a great way of travelling.

Summer of 2013 we are fully booked. We will go to Australia in winter of 2013/14 and looking for an exchange in Byron Bay in December 2013. Also looking for France, Italy or Spain in the summer of 2014.

But we also are open for any other new place to explore.

We are George and Mieke, a couple in the beginning of our sixties. We are married for 40 years and live in this house for over 30 years. We both have a college education and have been working as business consultant (George) and communication consultant (Mieke) till shortly. We lived in Austin, Texas for about two years and still love the place like we love Arnhem.
We love traveling and want to explore new parts of the world through exchanging homes. We love nature and culture, we want to hike and sight-see, visit museums and enjoy the good food live.
