Our 3 bedroom log home is located 5 miles west of Mount Werner (Steamboat Springs ski area). The house is less than 10 years old and has a large heated garage, a great kitchen for cooking, dining area, master bedroom on upper level, two bedrooms on lower level, media room, living room and a study area. A gas fired stove adds ambiance to the main living area but the radiant, in-floor heating keeps the house warm and cozy. Excellent exposure to sunlight and mountain views in every direction. Approximately 2400 square feet of living area on three levels.

Snow is removed from the driveway when snowfall exceeds 4 inches. The heated garage will really be appreciated during winter months.

Steamboat Springs is a year round resort area that also is home to a ranching community. The town is unlike most other resorts in that full time, working residents chose this location to live and raise families. Friendly, happy folks live and visit here. The area is known for its world class skiing and riding, vast array of cross country and back country skiing, snowmobiling, winter horse back riding and even dog sledding.

While winter sports are the big draw, Steamboat offer excellent warm weather pastimes including four area golf courses, hiking, mountain and road biking (two Treks are in our garage), rafting and hot spring spas. Located 170 miles from the Denver International airport, Steamboat can be accessed by car or several airlines that fly into the Hayden, CO regional airport that is 18 miles away.

Our home is located in a small development of about 120 single family homes. The area is called Silver Spur and is 1/2 mile from Highway 40 that goes through the heart of Steamboat. Shopping, skiing and restaurants are 5 minutes away.

In addition, the Silver Spur HOA maintains a 3 1/2 mile trail system that is terrific for walking, biking or cross country skiing (the trails are extended to over 7 miles in the winter). You can walk out our back yard onto the trail. The neighborhood is quiet, away from the hustle and bustle of the ski mountain. Real neighbors are available for questions and help if needed.

Again, we have unimpeded views of Mt Werner to the East, the Flattop Range to the South and Sleeping Giant mountain to the West. Our home sits on 1/3 acre and has decks to the South and West. Drive 5 miles to free car parking in the Meadows lot; a free shuttle will get you to the ski mountain in minutes.

High speed wireless internet, two flat screen HDTV with DISH, stereo with internet satellite radio and desktop computer (available). Have 4 WD SUV that is negotiable for trade.

Complete home appliances including dishwasher, microwave and gas stove. Snow plowing service included. No land line telephone, but excellent cell service.

Main objective is a warm place during January-March. We are retired, so all dates are flexible.

Warm weather destinations during the winter (prime ski season here in Colorado!) are at the top of our list. Spent time in the southern California area this and really enjoyed this. Also like the Napa/Sonoma wine country. Would be delighted to return there. Also, the Pacific Northwest is a favorite area.

New Zealand and Australia would be excellent and European and South American destinations would certainly be considered. Will entertain any suggestions and I guarantee a reply to every inquiry.

We are Carol and Frank, an active retired couple that has lived in Colorado for most of our life. Carol was a nurse that worked in the pediatric field; Frank has an engineering background, formally working in the technical sales and marketing areas. Our children and and grandchildren live in northern California.

After more than 40 years of skiing, snowboarding and cross country skiing, our interests have migrated towards warmer weather activities during the winter months. We have traveled extensively and enjoy exploring, golf, bike riding and hiking. Our home has been exchanged several times with excellent results.

No pets live at our home. We sometimes travel with another couple that share our same interests.
