Our Home
Our home is on a hillside overlooking Laguna Beach and the Pacific Ocean. The two story house, approximately 2,800 sq ft, was recently remodeled by a local architect using inspiration from the Japanese craftsman style. Downstairs, there is a large living room with a fireplace, a study, a kitchen with state of the art appliances, a dining room, a bedroom, a den, and two bathrooms both with bathtubs and showers. Upstairs is another bedroom, an entertainment center with a wide screen television set, and a bathroom with shower. Most of the rooms have ocean views. The house has patios in the back and on the side downstairs and off the bedroom upstairs. There is a built in barbeque grill and a fire pit on the side patio. We enjoy cooking outdoors year round. There is weekly maid service.
Our Neighborhood
Our home is located in a quiet residential neighborhood called Top of the World – because it is at the top of one of the hills that make up Laguna Beach. There is a park with public tennis courts several blocks away. While most everyone drives, it is possible to get to the center of town without a car. There is a public transit system with a bus stop about one block from our house. The drivers are very friendly. In the summer, there are free trolleys that take you from one end of town to the other including the art festivals.

Other Information
Laguna Beach is a small town of approximately 25,000 residents. It was originally established as an artists’ colony and continues to be home to many artists and art galleries. In the summer, several art festivals (and the beaches) draw million visitors. For the remainder of the year, Laguna has the feel of a small beach town. There are many excellent restaurants and interesting shops. Laguna has reasonably good surfing and excellent skimboarding (if you are not familiar, you will learn after a trip to the beach).

About Us
We are a family of three but only two of us will be traveling. Nancy is a retired psychologist and a school district administrator. Allan is a retired physician and a medical school faculty member. Our son Andrew is in college. We love good food and wine and enjoy dining at excellent restaurants at home and when we travel. We also like to cook, particularly preparing ingredients from the local markets of our travel destinations. Some of our favorite cities are London, Paris, Edinburgh, Madrid, Rome, and Kyoto. Closer to home, we love San Francisco, particularly the Embarcadero district. We love hiking in Yosemite and skiing in Taos.
