Our house is perfect for families with a garden and pergola. House and furniture suits to families with small or older children as well. There is a nice public swimming pool in the village. It is quite, close to wood and nature. Also good connections by public transportatoins. Half an our from the cities of Zurich, Winterthur and Schaffhausen (Rhinefall). Our house is not great luxury, but comportable and functional.

The house has three floors, a studio with twin bet and bathroom in the ground floor, a living, kitchen and large dinging room (fire place) and a bedroom (twin beds) and bath in the ground floor, and three bedrooms/offices in the first floor, also with TV and fire place. Central heating. No air conditioning in the house. Two TV with cable (Swiss, German, Austrian, BBC, CNN, French, Italien, Spanish, Turkish etc. channels). Wireliess access.

Our house is on a quiet road. Althought quite close to the Airport of Zurich, we do have no traffic noice.

Pets are welcome.

We have good contacts with our neighbours, nice and sympathic peoples we know for a long time, very helpful, families with small, older or no children arround. Mixed quartier. It is not a very rich area, but we have a conference complex (former textile factory) with 3 restaurants and a hotel close by. There is the river Glatt and river Rhine in our community. Next to wood and agricultural area . Nice walking and bike tours along the river Glatt or Rhine and many more.

As we just signed up with Haustauschferien,we have no special wishes for 2011 as we made up already our plans for 2011 (Corse and Sri Lanka). The house is free from June 26 to July 17, 2011, and from October 17 to Nov 1, 2011.

Our house is simple, but comportable. No big luxury, but nice to live in. There is anything you need to spend a wonderful time. It is a house for not complicated people, but we would like to find our house in the same conditions then we left it. Thanks.

2012 - from mid July to mid August - we intend to cross Canada from Vancouver (island) to Halifax. We will rent a camper, but maybe we have the chance to meet some of our future house exchange partners during our trip. and of course, the house will be free during one month for guests.

Ruth (born 1952) and Thomas (born 1955) both ingenieurs for agriculture (Dipl. Ing. Agr. ETH) and we are working in agricultural research resp. administration. We are living since 1987 in Glattfelden and have three gown-up children (teacher, veterinary, and student in food science), and two grand-children living in Berne. Regularly we ar living with two dogs, a bobtail with tail named Sokrates (almost 13 years old) and an Alascan dog called Sushi (7) which are gentle and nice. They always come with us or go to a home during our own holidays. My brother Herbert works for the community of Glattfelden speaks fluently Russian and Hebrew and will help out if needed.
