My apartment is a 10-minute walk from Nantes's city center. It's located on the 2nd floor of a small building in a nice neighborhood. It is made of an kitchen that opens onto a large living room. The bedroom is quite large as well and fits a queen size bed. The couch in the living room is large enough that it can stand as a bed for one person if needed.

You will have at your disposal a full-equipped kitchen with a microwave and a laundry machine. There's also a TV and the internet (although you should bring your own laptop since I will take mine while I'm away and leave an old one...).

The perks : My apartment is filled with books in both French and English which should make any avid reader extremely happy.

If you have a car or a bike I can use, I can offer to put at your disposal my own bike (2 if needed) and my car (which is a stick-shift).

Location : my apartment is located in a neighborhood called "L'île de Nantes". It is very easy to get around the city from here since it is close to many public transports. It is a 10-minute walk or a five-minute bike ride to the city center and there's a tramway stop 20 meters away from my doorstep that will take you to the center as well. It's a 15-minute walk to the train station. My place is located not far from a highway entrance that will take you straight to the beach in 45 minutes.

Neighborhood : there is a myriad of small shops in my neighborhood : three bakeries, one grocery store, a butcher, a store that sells organic products. It has a nice "village" feeling to it even though it is in the center of town. There are also two big shopping centers that you can get to in ten minutes by bike. Speaking of bike, there is a cheap self-service rental facility 10 meters away from my apartment.

The town: 6th more big city of France, there is much to say about Nantes : it's a historical city with a modern twist. The cultural life is vibrant and the town is diversified and yet united. Museums, stores, restaurants, Nantes has it all.

But better yet, you should just take the time to lose yourself in Nantes, relax, eat a crêpe and don't be shy : the locals are very friendly!

Things to do close to Nantes : Nantes is located a stone's throw away from many landmark cities in the region. From here, you will discover areas with very diversified landscape, culture and history. For example, you can get to the beach (La Baule, Pornic...) in just 45 minutes by car or train. You can also get to La Rochelle and the very picturesque Ile de Re in an hour and 1/2 by train. By riding the train (and your bike), you will discover the castles and villages carved in stone of the Loire Valley. Brittany and its main city Rennes as well as the fortified cities of Saint Malo and Dinard are only an hour and 1/2 away by car. And why not take a two-hour train ride to spend the day in beautiful Paris?

Here's a good tip : over the summer, the french railway system allows customers to buy a train ticket to use on the local railway system for five people bikes for 48 hours and for the price of 30 euros.
