Our Home
We live in a cedar, split level house with native timber (rimu) interior and extensive decking and windows looking onto a reserve of native bush with tuis, kereru (native pigeons) and moreporks (NZ owls). The top study room overlooks the Cook Strait and South Island, with stunning sunsets...the top deck is perfect for an evening wine to watch the sun set on the South Island and the bottom decks are great for breakfast while talking with the birds. Our road is a quiet cul-de-sac and there is a double garage and offstreet parking. The house gets all day sun and we think it is comfortable and easy living, a great place for a base to explore both islands of New Zealand.
Our Neighborhood
We're situated on a hill above the Cook Strait and a short walk down steps to the beach. It's a 15 minute walk along the seafront to the train station for the 25 minute journey to Wellington with its museum, cafe's, cable car, concert halls, Zealandia Wildlife reserve etc.The village itself has two good restaurants, a pizza cafe, great fish and chips, small shop etc. The Cook Strait ferry terminal is just 5 minutes, across the road from the railway station in Wellington, and Plimmerton is 5 minutes from State Highway 1 north, so it's easy to travel around the country.

About Us
We are a couple with grown up children who have now left home. Kevin works as a computer programmer and Maisie is a psychologist and we both love travelling. In the past few years we have travelled extensively teaching English as a second language. We originally come from UK and have made New Zealand our home for the past 20 years. We have a relaxed, tidy and liveable home and love the idea of making contact with others who would like to come to this beautiful part of the world.
