We have a light, four bed, modern home on the edge of Letchworth in Hertfordshire. We live in quiet cul-de-sac with views across countryside, a garden, with patio for breakfast in the sun.

There are two double bedrooms - one en-suite. Two childrens rooms with single beds. There are plenty of toys (lots of lego) associated with children aged 12 and nine.

We have plenty of push bikes, a reliable estate car, a canoe and kayak, all usual amenities including a dishwasher. There is a wood-burning stove. You will be warm and confortable with no hassles at our home. It will be spotlessly clean, and we will leave your home in a similar state.

We grow vegetables in the summer and you will be welcome to help yourself. There is a trampoline in the garden, and small tree house. Views across to the local church.

Letchworth was the first garden city in the UK and has some very interesting 1910 architecture. It is 25 minutes by train to central London, or 35 minutes drive to Cambridge. Within 45 minutes of leaving the house you can be canoeing through Cambridge, walking through nice countryside to a traditional English pub, or in central London.

We have some nice countryside on our doorstep, and a great gastro pub/ restaurant five minutes walk from the house.

We are close to the A1 motorway making our house a great base to explore southern England and beyond. there is shop within walking distance, and supermarkets, station, cinema etc close by.

You will find our house very convenient. If you want to spend several days in London and behond, but prefer to stay somewhere quieter where the children can play football in the street, we have the place.

We are less than an hour from the Olympics park (door-to-door) in East London, so if you want to come to 2012 Olympics then please get in touch. This might have to be on a non-simultaneous basis.

We are Miles - a journalist (45) Clare a part-time languages teacher (46), Lottie (11) and Theo (8). We are an active family that enjoy walking, cycling, canoeing and exploring new areas - both cities and countryside.

We are quite an eco family who recycle and cycle as much as possible.
We have two guinea pigs that can stay at home or can go to a friend's house during your stay.

We have friends close by to help with any problems/ or advice on trips etc. Clare speaks several languages - if that helps.
