Our house in Glückstadt (near Hamburg) modern and very generous:

We have 4 nice bedrooms (two are children rooms), 2 bathrooms, a guest toilet, a very large living room (75m²), a fully equiped nice kitchen and a sunny winter garden. We have a balcony and a large terrace to the beautiful green garden with a swing, a slide and a sandbox for children. The garden is next to the old moat of Glückstadt and the city park. In front of the house is a dead-end street, perfect for children.

So it is very calm, but also central to everything:
You only need 5 minutes walk to the nice historical city and train station!

Be happy in Happytown (=Glückstadt) near Hamburg!

We live 5 minutes walk away from the beautiful, historical center, where you can find a lot of nice shops, very nice restaurants, the harbour, some museum, the public swimming-pool, a nice little cinema, supermarkets and the train station.
Glückstadt has 12.000 residents and is located directly to the river Elbe, so it´s perfect for bike and boat tours, walking, sailing or windsurfing. There are some nice beaches of the Elbe around and you only need 1 hour to the North sea or 1,5 hours to the Baltic sea.

What about a trip to Hamburg?
It only takes 35 minutes by train to reach Hamburg (50 km) - the beautiful city in the north of germany. There is a direct train connection between Hamburg and Glückstadt. The a a few trains every hour. In the metropolis city Hamburg you have a lot of culture activities and events: the famous zoo Hagenbeck, the harbour, the churches, the cityhall, theatres, opera ... and St.Pauli.

There are endless possibilities for nice daytrips for familys, couples and singles around Glückstadt. If you are interested, we will help you!

We are a family of four persons:

My husband is 45 years old and works as chemical engineer in Hamburg. He loves sailing and reading books.
I`m 36years old and nurse. I play piano, love singing in a choir and making bike tours.
Our son is 7years old and goes mornings in school. He loves playing with trains, doing sports, sailing and singing in a choir.
Our daughter is 4 years old and goes to a kindergarten. She loves sports, dancing and playing outside in the garden.

Regarding our exchange-house we are open to everything and interested in spots everywhere, Germany included!
We think house-exchange is a very good idea to learn a lot about other cultures and meet new people. Our last exchange was a really great experience with a lovely family from the canarian island.
