Our Home
Our vacation home is a very serene and peaceful place. If you enjoy small and historic mountain towns plus the beauty of the Sierra Nevada mountains then you will love our place. It is a 1500 square foot home that was built in 2009. It sits on 1 acre at the end of a culdesac in a very quiet neighborhood. Two sides of our property our bordered by Plumas National Forest. You have a view of the forest from almost every window of the house. You literally have access to thousands of acres of forest from the front steps. This means you can hike, explore, ride motorcycles, ATVs, or mountain bike right from the front door. There are two large lawn areas to play games, sit and relax, or cook a meal with our gas BBQ. We are frequented by deer, turkeys, coyotes, and a occasional raccoon. We also have a fire pit area to start a campfire to warm yourself in the evenings or roast marshmallows. Our home has a wrap around deck that is a perfect place to watch the kids play or read a book. The interior has a master bedroom with a cal king bed and private bath. The guest bedroom has a queen bed. There is a second full bath located in the hallway. There also is a loft that the kids love to play and sleep in. The loft has a queen and double mattress on the floor. Our home has most ammenities including satelite tv. We do not have central heat and air ( we do have a nice woodstove for warmth in the winter and the spring and summer months generally cool down in the evenings) and a telephone ( we use our cellphones when we are there ). For your enjoyment we have an 18 hole disk golf course that winds through the woods, two canoes that are on a trailer ready to take advantage of the lakes, a tree fort, a teepee, bikes, a horseshoe pit, a campfire pit, fishing poles and numerous outdoor type games.

Our Neighborhood
Our neighborhood was established in 1960. All our neighboors live there year round. The elevation is 3800 feet. The average snow fall is about 3 feet, which makes our home a fun place to play in the snow during the winter months. In the spring months, the days are warm but the evenings are cool enough to start a bon fire at night. During the summer months, the days are very warm and the nights are cool. The fall is a great time for the fall foilage, our area is nationally known for its fall colors. The small mountain community of Greenville is 5 minutes away with all the basic services, gas stations, grocery store, restaurants and plenty of antique stores. Lake Almanor is a 10 minute drive where you can fish, ski, sunbathe. Round Valley Reservoir is also a 10 minute drive and sports some great crappie fishing. There are plenty of small streams in the area that sport great trout fishing or swimming holes. Also on both sides of the lake are golf courses. The town of Chester is on the far end of the lake and about a 30 minute drive. Lassen National Park is one hour from our home and the park features sulpher pits, mud pots, untouched lakes, hiking trails including a trail that takes you to the top of Mt. Lassen ( I personally recommend this, the views of the valley are spectactular, I've done it twice.) Our area offers many things to do regardless of the season and I recommend internet searching Plumas County, Lake Almanor, Chester, Greenville, Indian Valley, and Quincy to explore all the area has to offer.
