We live in a recent house (2002) located in the old part of Bottens, a small village in the countryside. Lausanne the closest city is only 15 minutes drive away; 12km South.

Rooms and equipment is fully adapted for a 4 to 5 people family; central heating, dish washer, computer with Internet access, TV cable, DVD reader, etc…We also have a piano in the guest room.

At first floor there are four bedrooms and one bathroom. On basement, one bathroom the kitchen with full appliance and a large dinning-living room, from which you can access to the terrace and the garden.

When the weather is fine the terrace is a nice place to stay, to read, to have a tea. That's a nice place too for barbecues or to look at children playing. From there you will have a nice view on the Jura (small moutains on the West side) and you will appreciate the sunset.
Young visitors will be happy to find a trampoline, a slide, two swings, bicycles, and other outdoor games and accessories to play with. Two adults bikes are always ready for a ride in the hills, woods and villages around.

The neighbourhood is very quiet. There's only resident traffic. The road in which we're living is part of the "old village" and is identified as itinary for horse riders ; we see every day horses comming along the garden.

We have a Toyota Verso diesel that we exchange as well (compact monospace 5 to 7 seats). As most of european cars, it's manual gears.

We also can exchange our apartment in the Alps, in the little village Vercorin. Perfect for hiking or skiing (ski lift), Less than 2 hours drive.

Bottens is litlle village (about 1000 residents) and even if public transportation is available to go to Lausanne, the car is remains the most convenient solution to travel from here to most destinations. We have a shop for the bread and for common food needs. It's a post office as well. Two restaurants; one serves very good food but we didn't test the second one.

Geneva lake is at 30min drive, the Alps are about 1h drive. Only 15 minutes drive (or with public transportation) are needed to reach Lausanne with its museums, shops, and its old city. With the highways it's easy to get to these different places in a short time (less than one hour): Bern, Geneva, Gruyère, Montreux.

Bottens is very well centered between the Jura (West mountains) and the Alps, between the Neuchatel lake and Geneva Lake. The region suits well with biking (road or mountain bike), for hiking and horse riding in the country side.

The region counts several very good chefs. Some are very expensive, others are really affordable. We provide addresses to whom like having good food, nicely served in a pleasant dining room. There are also nice restaurant for families. If you like spending time in spa's or thermal bath different nice you will be able to have good time surrounded by great landsscapes in the Alps.

We're also opened for short duration exchanges with famillies from European countries for the rest of the year.

Michèle (41) is special education teacher and Nicolas (42) is working as technical software engineer for a medical device company. Chloé, forteen and Loïc, eleven years old.We do have a cat, Milton, who spends his days outdoors.
Loïc plays soccer, and piano. Chloé likes dancing, theater and volleyball. Michèle plays in a volleyball team. She likes reading, history and travelling. Nicolas plays volleyball too and goes road biking as often he can. He likes nature and technical stuff.
