Our Home
Our single-story home is located on a quiet, residential street, about a 7-minute drive from downtown Ashland. The house sits within its own garden and grounds, overlooking a large common area filled with mature oak trees. Just beyond the common area is the first tee of the Oak Knoll Golf Course.
Our home consists of three bedrooms, (one of which serves as a den/office); the master bedroom has a queen bed, and shower ensuite, the guest bedroom has two twin beds, with the guest bathroom adjacent, containing full bath/shower. The living room and kitchen are large and bright, and the airy dining area leads onto a shady deck where we spend most of our summer days.
Cable and wi-fi installed.

Our Neighborhood
We live in a very friendly neighborhood, with many walking trails all around. Supermarkets, pharmacies and restaurants are located as close as 1 km, and we are about 3 km from the downtown plaza, which contains an interesting array of restaurants, boutiques, galleries and cinemas. The town's main focus is the Oregon Shakespeare Festival, which occupies three theatres. Plays from all branches of theatre are presented in addition to Shakespeare; some of them are world premieres. The Festival season runs from mid-February until November 1st, annually. For more information, visit www.osfashland.org.
There are many hiking trails all round the town, and many longer, more challenging trails are located within easy driving distance. The long-distance Pacific Crest Trail, which runs 5,000 km from Canada to Mexico, passes just 40 km from Ashland.
Ashland is home to Southern Oregon University, and the town is situated in the beautiful valley of the Rogue River, where there's floating, rafting and jet-boating in the summer months. There are many excellent wineries nearby, and the valley is surrounded by the Siskiyou Mountains, which are snow-clad in winter, when good ski-ing is available on Mount Ashland, about a 30-minute drive.
Here along Oregon's southern border with California, the summers are warm, even hot, and cloudless, with minimal rainfall from the end of May until the end of October; mostly clear skies and low rainfall during the rest of the year.
Ashland's population is about 20,000. Nearby Medford's population is about 70,000. The major cities of San Francisco and Portland are each about 600 km distant. It is 30 km to the nearest commercial airport, Medford (MFR). The rugged and beautiful Pacific coast is a 3-hour drive, and world-famous Crater Lake, Oregon's only National Park, can be reached by car in 2 hours.
