Our Home
Phoenix has a reputation for being very hot. This is true for June thru Sept, but the rest of the year it has one of the best climates in the world. We live in a modern penthouse style home nestled on the side of the Phoenix Mountain Preserve. The house is on one level and has floor to ceiling glass along the south side with stunning views of the city, and the Estrella moutains. The living room, kitchen, dining room and master bedroom face south, all with similar breathtaking views. The floors are oak with carpet in the bedrooms, ther are a second bedroom, office, excersise room and two car garage. Both the living room and master bedroom have fireplaces. The kitchen is modern with all the usual appliances, and the counter space can seat four. The dining room is elevated from the living room and can seat up to six, but four comfortably. The pool and heated jaccuzzi have views of the city. They are competely private with unobstructed views or the city and mountains. None of our neighbours can see any part of our house. A large partly shaded deck overlooks the pool with an outside fireplace, three fountains and extensive landscaping.
Our Neighborhood
Phoenix is the fifth largest city in the US. One needs a car. Available are a two seat convertible Mercedes, and a six seat Ford truck. Our neighbouhood is nestled on the south side of the Phoenix Moutain Preserve, with it's many walks and hikes. We are 10mins from the city and Phoenix International airport. We are close to Scottdale with it's vibrant night life, numerous restaurants, shops and museums. There is always a concert or show available. There are over 200 golf courses within easy driving of our area. For seven months of the year Arizona enjoys a desert climate second to none, with warm days and cool nights, so we spend a lot of time outside. The summers are hot and dry (good pool weather). In the Spring the mountains are covered in flowers of all colors. Like all major cities we have our undesirable areas, but fortunately we are far from them and they don't impact our lives at all.

Other Information
Arizona is a beautiful state with an varied geography from low to high desert to alpine. Flagsaff is at 7000 feet. Points of interest are, Ramsey canyon, Kartchner caverns, Grand Canyon, Sedona, Canyon de Chelly, Buenos Aires Wildlife Preserve, Prescott, Sedona, Havasupai falls, Indian reservations. the Painted desert and Monumnent Valley etc.
To obtain a feel for the state, pull up Arizona Highways magazine and look at their photos. Also there are web sites for all the above locations.
We also own a very comfortable cabin (four bedrooms, great kitchen and living room) in the Sedona area at 7000 feet on a little lake in a small community (Stoneman Lake). It is off the grid (Solar panels, spring water, no phones etc). This is part of the package.

About Us
My name is Peter, I am a doctor and my wife Mary works with me. We live alone with our Chow mix, a 13 year old dog who stays with friends while we are away. We are skiiers, hikers and love to travel. Peter's hobbies are music (piano) and duplicate bridge. We both mounain bike. Mary love animals, books and crossword puzzles. We have nine grand children. I grew up in Cardiff, Wales, Mary is a Minnesotan. We both only work part time so we are free to travel any time. My family live in Chepstow and Taunton UK, so we visit there often.
The house is not suitable for children under the age of 8.
