Our Home
Our home has 3 floors with a view of the ocean from the third floor terrace (we are one block from the Pacific Ocean and our beautiful beach in Melaque). On the third floor is a hammock for enjoying the warm ocean breezes during siesta time and two easy chairs for watching the amazing Melaque sunsets.
There are 2 bedrooms each with its own bathroom with walk in showers. The guest bedroom also doubles as a second TV room with HD television and Canadian satellite service. Both bedrooms are air conditioned with overhead fans as well for your comfort. We designed an open living room with large screen HD television and Canadian satellite service, and dining room. Our kitchen is a fully equipped kitchen with large 6 burner gas stove/oven, a large 16 cu. ft. fridge/freezer, microwave, coffee maker, blender, slow cooker, etc. Our kitchen has everything you would possibly need and is a joy to cook in. We are less than five minutes from our favourite store with the freshest vegetables and fruits and our meat market is only a short distance away as well.
On the front terraza we have a full size propane barbeque hooked up and ready to go at all times.
There is wireless internet throughout our home. Off the main floor is another bathroom/laundry room. The third floor is equpped with laundry lines for hanging your clothes, a hammock and an outdoor shower.
We have a complete purified and pressurized in-home water system for pure drinking and washing water.
Every room has its own overhead Hunter fan. There is a garden terrace available from each of the bedrooms through French doors with 2 chaise lounges and patio furniture, a second floor terrace with patio furniture for lounging or dining, and a rooftop terrace with a view of the ocean, hammocks and two slingback chairs for enjoying sunrise or sunset. We also have two outdoor showers, one in the garden terrace and one on the rooftop terrace. We have a wonderful housekeeper twice a week who also takes care of our plants.
We have two bicycles for touring the area.
Our Mexican contractor is totally bilinigual and always ready to help whenever anyone needs assistance. He and his family are very close friends.
We own this property.

Our Neighborhood
On the beach one can enjoy a swim in the beautiful and warm Pacific Ocean, take a ride on a banana boat, rent a wave runner or walk the beach. There is also our favourite fishing guide and his boat to rent to take you deep sea fishing. We have two bicycles for riding throughout the towns.
You can also take a forty minute bus ride to Manzanillo for a day of site seeing and shopping, or an hour and a half bus ride to the beautiful city of Colima which is considered one of the more beautiful colonial Spanish cities in Mexico. Guadalajara, another beautiful colonial city, is three hours away and Puerta Vallarta is four hours by bus and all offer a multitude of entertainment options from cultural activities to nightlife and shopping.
Buses run to other beautiful beaches in our area with boogie boarding (we have 2), snorkling (we have all the snorkling equipment), beachside restaurants and swimming. La Manzanilla has wonderful beachside restaurants and 4 kilometres of sandy beach to swim, walk and simply enjoy. Whales migrate during January through to March, and dolphins can been seen at times in the bay. Bus service throughout Mexico is inexpensive and amazing - from the first class buses with air conditioning/television/washroom facilities to local village to village buses that are always entertaining in themselves.
We are twenty minutes from the International Manzanillo Airport (regular taxi service at all times). The three villages of Melaque, San Patricio and Melaque are in a lush agricultural valley known for its fresh fruit and vegetables. As well the villages have a fishing co-op for fresh ocean fish daily. One of our neighbours deep sea dives for fresh lobster which he sells from his home.
Two good friends, Dan and Ruth (both are from England are in fluent in Spanish as well), have a wonderful tour company (www.mex-ecotours.com) and arrange trips from helping endangered baby sea turtles emerge and travel safely to the ocean to tours of Mexico City and its outstanding museums and archeological sites, to the Copper Canyon in the north with shorter trips to Guadalajara, the biggest small town in Mexico, a beautiful colonial city 4 hours north of San Patricio. Trips to Tonala and Tlaquepaque, two smaller towns near Guadalajara, are a must for finding beautiful handmade Mexican ceramics and iron work. Tonala has a huge market every Thursday and Sunday and it is simply "Shop Until You Drop".
We also have a wonderful massage therapist three doors down from our home. Roxa's Massage Centre does relaxation massages as well as therapeutic and healing massages. Roxa is well worth a visit while you are staying at our home.

Other Information
The towns are situated on a horseshoe bay that is protected and wonderful for swimming. The ocean stays warm throughout the year. Fishing is important to the families in the towns as well we live in an agricultural valley - fresh produce is available year-round. There are wonderful small stores that have their produce overflowing onto the streets - tomatoes, peppers, cucumbers, onions, potatoes, beans, cantalope, watermelon, avacodos, etc. etc. etc.
We have an IMSS hospital in town as well as a wonderful physcian and dentist who both speak English and Spanish. We have also built a personal friendship with them both.
During the winter season, December to March sunrise is 7:00 a.m. and sunset is 6:30 p.m. The daily temperature is 28 degrees Celsius during the day and 22 degrees Celsius in the evening. The Pacific Ocean has been as warm as 84 degrees Farenheit during these months - wonderful for swimming, boogie boarding, snorkling, etc. Our home is one block from the beach - a 2 minute stroll. Enjoy!
The people are amazing, so friendly and welcoming. We also have two bikes with carriers to travel throughout the towns for shopping and sightseeing. Come and enjoy the experience of Mexican Life in Villa Obregon, San Patricio, and Melaque, Mexico.
