Mataró (Latin Iluro) is the capital of Maresme comarca, in the province of Barcelona, Catalonia, Spain. It is located by the Mediterranean Sea. Population 102,018 (1996). Its' located between Barcelona City and Costa Brava. 30 Km north of Barcelona's City and 40 Km south of Blanes (south border of Costa Brava).

The first railway in Spain was the line Barcelona - Mataró opened in 1848. Train station is at 10 min walking distance from the flat. Train connects Mataró with Barcelona center every 10 mins (aprox) and the trip takes 30 min.

In case you choose to go to Barcelona by car you will be there in 30 minutes through the C-31 highway.

We are Francesc (47) and Barbara (45), and our two sons, Hanna (a girl 16 years old) and Ricard (a boy 14 years old). Barbara is Dutch and I'm Spanish. We are very homelike and also quite active minded. Practicing several sports. Hanna practices horse riding and swimming, Ricard roller hockey, Barbara, cycling and myself, trail running and mountain bike.

We love to travel and discover new cities in Europe (by now). We are also passionate to learn other languages and cultures and we want to nurture my children on this passion.

I'm manager at the IT Department of a multinational finantial services company. Barbara is English teacher and ownes a foreign language school.
