A garden oasis in the colourful, bustling and exotic city of Bangkok.

With a tennis court, pool, gym and maid you will feel like you are staying in a star resort.

The complex was originally the compound for the Australian embassy staff, but now has families from Europe, North America and Australia. The low-rise (7 floor) blocks surround a leafy garden area and tennis court where the children love to play. There is also a children's playground area and a pool with an attached toddler's pool. For the adults there are the tennis courts and a fully equipped gym.

The gates to our complex has 24-hour security guards, who always greet you with a big smile and wai, hail taxi's for you and help you tell the drivers where you wish to go.

Our apartment is on the ground floor. It has a large combined dining/living area, a separate TV/playroom, a kitchen, a large master bedroom with king sized bed and ensuite. There are 2 smaller children's bedrooms, one with a queen bed and the other with a single bed. And finally an un-used maid's room that we use as a guest room. It is small but has a double bed and its own small ensuite.

Our apartment is taken care of by our maid, who comes four afternoons a week to clean, iron, grocery shop and cook. She is a really great cook and prepares wonderful Thai dishes AND western food as well! We have a pretty little cat who won't give you much trouble. Most of the time the maid will take care of her, but we will need you to feed her the days the maid is not here.

We live in a rather upscale area of Bangkok, close to a number of embassies and the business district. We are also close to a large, beautiful park. We are within an easy walk to a Bangkok underground station, which links up with Bangkok's Skytrain system.

There are lots of great restaurants and cafes in the neighbourhood, and we are not far from Bangkok's main shopping areas.

We would like to spend the summer 2013 in Europe, ideally one exchange in the north and one in the south.

We would like to spend Christmas 2013 in Sydney Australia and would love to exchange over this period.

But we are always open to other ideas!

We are a family of four. I am Canadian, my husband is South African and my children are Australian!! My husband and I met in Bangkok about 18 years ago, but we only returned to Bangkok about 5 years ago after 12 years in Sydney, Australia.

We are so happy to be back in Thailand where we love the people and the lifestyle and the food and the buzz and the beaches! And so much more. My husband works in Corporate Engagement for a large NGO, and I was a librarian up until our move here. Now I have tennis lessons and volunteer with Bangkok's refugee population! My children are a girl (10) and a boy (7), both of whom attend a local international school.
