Our Home
Our home is a two bedroom loft in Brooklyn, NY. The building has 24 hour doorman, a gym, a beautiful garden/courtyard, bike storage and laundry. The apartment is renovated and has all amenities (Wi Fi internet, cable TV, dishwasher, etc.) It is filled with light and is very spacious for a New York City home. The open kitchen has all new stainless steel appliances. The master bedroom includes a home office area. The second bedroom is now set up for our almost 3 year old son but it is easily transformed into a second room for a couple or with two single beds for two children.
Our building also has a maintenance team that can take care of anything that happens in our absence.

Our Neighborhood
The apartment is in the Cobble Hill/Carroll Gardens area of Brooklyn. This is one of the most desirable areas in Brooklyn. It is next to the subway and bus. In a 10 minute subway ride you can be in downtown Manhattan. Within walking distance from home you have some of the most spectacular views of the Manhattan skyline. The neighborhood is a paradise for people interested in food. There are great restaurants, bars, food and wine stores. There are also interesting stores and great shopping in the area. It is a great neighborhood for children with several playgrounds within walking distance, and plenty of children's activities for the winter months. We are located on the F line which rides all the way up sixth avenue making the commute to all NYC tourist attractions very easy. A short bus ride or a longer walk take you to Prospect Park, the Brooklyn Museum and the Botanical Garden.
Our neighborhood is filled with brownstones and small gardens, it is a great place to be based when you visit NYC. You have fast and direct access to all tourist destinations but you get to live like a "local" avoiding crowded tourist areas when you want to retreat home.

About Us
We are Helena, Dave and Sam. Helena is a child psychologist. She is originally from Barcelona, Spain and came to the US to go to graduate school at Columbia University. She eventually got her doctoral degree from NYU and now is working back at Columbia as a faculty member. Dave has his own business as an educational consultant in the city. He grew up in Long Island. Sam is four years old and he is a great kid. He loves cars, trains, reading, fire trucks...
We love hiking and the outdoors. We are also very much a family of travelers (by his first birthday, Sam had been on 13 flights!) We love enjoying NYC and all it has to offer, parks, museums, farmers' markets. We try to go visit family in Spain as much as we can and we love good food!
