Our Home

Light-filled 1927 Colonial in Oakdale, one of Portland's nicest neighborhoods. This home is well-cared-for, kid and family-friendly, and includes a large backyard and patio with gas grill. There are three bedrooms upstairs, one with a twin-size bunk bed, one with a queen-size bed, and one with a pull-out love seat, plus a large office. We have an air mattress that can also be used in the office or the biggest bedroom.

On the first floor, there is a large living room, dining room, kitchen, and sun porch currently configured as a kids play space. Wireless internet is available throughout the house. There is a washer-dryer, Bose sound dock, and a TV with cable and DVD.

Our Neighborhood

Oakdale is a wonderful, old neighborhood. Very residential and walkable, including Baxter Boulevard/Back Cove, and the shops of Deering Center. It is also 5 minutes from the shops, theater, art museums, and restaurants of downtown Portland and the Old Port, Portland's historic waterfront. For a small city, Portland has received much acclaim recently for its great restaurants and has a vibrant music, art, and theater scene.

10-15 minutes in the car will get you to beautiful beaches, historic lighthouses, hiking, cross-country skiing in the winter, etc. A half-hour drive will get you to farms and apple orchards, lakes, and other Maine delights.

The summer and fall (leaf-peeping!) are particularly beautiful times of year here. The lobster here is fresh, plentiful, and cheap!
