Our Home
Our home is a large (just under 4,000 square feet), fairly modern 4 bedroom, 3.5 bathroom single family home in beautiful Tiburon. We can reach the San Francisco side of the Golden Gate Bridge from our home in precisely 10 minutes by car. Tiburon is also accessible to San Francisco by ferry (a beautiful 20mins ride). Finally we can walk to the water (Richardson Bay) in 3 minutes.
Our home can comfortably accommodate anywhere from 6-10 people. We use one bedroom as our master suite, one bedroom as a kids room (there's a twin bed with trundle and a crib inside), another bedroom as a playroom (there is a convertible sofa) and we have a guest room with a queen size bed. We also have a 2nd crib and a twin bed located in an exercise room--we currently use this room for our 1yr old son. In addition we have a stand alone office, which is adjacent to our temperature controlled wine cellar. In case you need to accommodate more people, we have a convertible sofa in our music room, and a convertible sofa in our playroom. Additionally, we have an air mattress, that you could also use.
We have two decks off of the main floor--one has a sofa and single chair, and the other holds the grill, which is adjacent to the kitchen and breakfast nook.
We have a small backyard with grass, and a lot of flowers and landscaping. We love how private our home feels--even though there are homes on both sides of ours, we can't really see them through all of the trees/foliage. Additionally, our backyard is against a minimally used public trail, which means we're not against someone else's property in the back and you can access some spectacular trails right through our backyard.
Our Neighborhood
We live on the border of Tiburon and Mill Valley. Tiburon is known for its proximity to San Francisco and its world class views of San Francisco and the Golden Gate Bridge.
There is a small park with a playground 100 meters from our home that is lightly used, especially on weekends. This park is especially good for children that are 7 and younger.

Other Information
In 2011, we did an amazing exchange with a family in Paris. They stayed at our home non-simultaneously (we were in Southern California while they were in our home). It was a family of 5, and they were very comfortable in our home, and we did our best to provide very detailed information on the surrounding area, including maps, restaurants, ferry schedules, bus schedules, etc. We also left them some of our local guidebooks: Zagat restaurant guide, hiking guide, Lonely Planet San Francisco, etc. And of course, we left them a couple of examples of some of our favorite Napa Valley wines.
For us, we stayed in their home outside of Paris, and they also generously offered access to their studio apartment in Paris, so we had a choice! We also exchanged cars--our BMW for their Audi. In Paris, they programmed their GPS for us, including the grocery store, local bakery, train station, the Paris flat, the local swimming pool, etc. And the bonus was they also had young children, which meant our very curious daughter was never bored in their lovely home. Our Parisian exchange family also very kindly stocked our refrigerator for our arrival and left no less than 7 bottles for us to consume during our stay. They were so kind and generous, and I'd like to hope they'd say the same about us.
In 2012, we had two wonderful exchanges in Italy -- one on Lago di Como and on in Piemonte. Can't wait to go back!

Our Dates
We tend to visit Europe over the summer for a month (typically mid-July to mid-August), and other than that, for California trips, we can be fairly flexible.

Our Destinations
We love the West Coast of the US, and look forward to spending long weekends/weeks in Carmel, Big Sur, Mendocino, Wine country and up and down the Oregon coast.
With Monika's parents in Europe, we enjoy spending a few weeks in Italy every year sometime during July to August. Beyond that we are open... tempt us!

About Us
We are in our late thirties and have two children - a girl born in September 2009, and a boy born in May, 2011. We are both management consultants and we run our own consulting firm that takes us around the world but allows us to work from home when we are in town. Monika grew up in Hungary but has been living in the US off and on for the last 20 years. Howard's parents are from China, but he was born and raised just outside of Los Angeles. We both love traveling -- in 2008, we visited 17 countries! When we are in town we take advantage of the wonderful array of activities San Francisco and Marin County both offer -- we go to the Symphony or the Opera, we see plays, we visit museums, we go hiking in Marin County or sailing on the Bay. Howard is a photographer, so if you stay with us you will get to see his gorgeous shots of the Golden Gate Bridge!
