Our Home
For anyone who has stayed at my place last year: I just moved from the Rivierenbuurt to the charming old-south neighbourhood.
My new place is a flat on the second floor has three rooms (study, living & bedroom)plus a spacious kitchen (i.e. for Amsterdam standards). A bathroom (shower, bath), balcony and a threadmill in one of the attic rooms. It's all double glazing which makes it nice and warm :) and central heating, free view onto small square/park, wifi, tv, many, many English & art books and a double bed with wonderful tempur mattress. My sofa sleeps one, easily, plus an extra inflatable bed for another person, if needed. If you're smokers: no problem, please use the balcony to do so.

Our Neighborhood
The old-south is an elegant part of town, mainly residential, with shops, parks, public transport, health clubs, etc.
What makes it perfect for your stay in Amsterdam is its proximity to the city centre (15 minutes by bike).
Lots of 'Amsterdamse school' style buildings as well as other gorgeous 1920's/1930's structures. It's close to the Concertgebouw and all the museums, the lovely Vondelpark as well as the impressively built financial centre with many new architectural marvels. For those who have stayed here before: I gave my lovely cat Charlie to a friend who has a garden and more space for him - my most altruistic deed last year :-).

I already enjoyed three lovely exchanges in Barcelona, Costa Brava & Paris, but I'm always up for another one.
Trips to Paris are always welcome and easily arranged as it's close-by. New York has always been high on my list of cities to visit, so feel free to contact me.

About Us
I'm a freelance English & Dutch translator of 40 years old & flexible as regards dates - I'm not confined to any public holidays or summer holidays etc. If you're interested in a longer exchange I'll be taking my laptop with me to do a little work in the meantime.
My boyfriend lives right in the centre of Amsterdam, in a bigger apartment so please let me know if you're travelling with more people in which case you can possibly stay at his place rather than mine (as we will be travelling together most of the time anyway). He also has a modest motor boat for roaming the canals...
