We had one exchange with Venecia, with the home of Dario Maestranzi in Lido, with offer number 87617, We have been in Carnival 2008, from 27th in February to 4th in March.
Our stay in Venice even surpassed our high expectations. The weather was not that well and crowds were massive (it was carnival!), but the city was simply enchanting. Nothing like Venice: the first sight is astonishing and every corner holds new views and sensations.
We found the house on Lido very comfortable and a welcome retreat from the hustle and bustle of Venice proper. Quiet, spacious, with an excellent bus connection to the harbour and with all amenities we could desire. A perfect place to rest and relax and to recharge the batteries for a new day of island hopping. There are some groceries nearby and the people are very friendly and helpful. Boat connections to and from the airport, Venice, the rail and bus station are frequent and easy. Lido itself was also worthwhile to stroll around with a charming centre, though many facilities around the beach were still closed at the time of our visit. We visited the nearby island of Murano, which was very interesting for its glass factories and gives a good impression of everyday life on the islands.
Both Venice and the house can be warmly recommended. Thank you for the stay!
