At the end of August 2011, we had a very successful exchange with Anne and Pete, who we now count as friends. We are experienced exchangers, having done about 25 so far.
The exchange was for a week and we were joined by our Son and Daughter- in -law for four of those days. We all had a really good time and Anne made us feel extremely welcome and comfortable in their home. They had prepared well for our visit and we felt at home very quickly. We could have done with longer, really, as there was so much we wanted to see in the surrounding countryside.
The area is steeped in history and we enjoyed days out every day, to gardens, stately homes and castles Anne and Pete had told us about. We didn't have to drive too far for great days out. There are pretty villages to explore, like Rye, which was fascinating. Scotney Castle was one of our favourite visits.
Anne and Pete's garden is lovely, with places to sit out right into the evening, especially if you get the weather.We had breakfast in the sun one morning. The garden is nice and private.
We loved looking after Anne and Pete's two beautiful cats and they were no bother as they come and go as they please through the cat flap.
Very importantly to us, Anne and Pete left our home spotlessly clean, just as they had found it. It was a pleasure to come home to find everything so well cared for, including our cat, Timmy.

We visited Anne & Peter’s home in Bexhill on Sea on the south coast of England in October 2011. Their home is located on a quiet estate, very cosy with everything you could want including a lovely private garden. Good communications with a very friendly and helpful couple leading up to and during the exchange. Whilst there we visited many varied and interesting places including National Trust properties such as Sissinghurst; Brighton, Hastings and quaint English villages such as Alfriston. In turn they looked after our home immaculately. Thank you for a splendid exchange!
